Washington - Caldwell Parent Update
Week of March 18, 2024
Message from our Principal
Hello Bulldog Families,
We held our most recent Community Information Meeting on Wednesday, March 13 here at Washington-Caldwell. The focus of the meeting was to provide information and answer questions about our upcoming operating referendum on April 2, 2024. We had several parents in attendance for the presentation and Q& A session. Todd Hajewski, School Budget Specialist from Baird, was also present and shared information on the State funding formula for public schools. We are grateful for those that were able to attend. We want to be sure voters are informed of how we are funded and why we have an operating referendum on the ballot. Please vote on April 2nd. Thank you!
Our athletics program has been very busy over the past couple of months. The volleyball season has had a great deal of success this season. It has been exciting to watch both the A Team and B Team grow over the course of the season. Wheatland Center School is hosting the League volleyball tournament this Saturday. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with match play beginning at 9:00 a.m. We are also gearing up for the Spring track season. Our coach, Mrs. Snow, a parent of two students at Washington-Caldwell, as well as assistant coach Victor Schopp will be leading the track team this year. We currently have over 20 students who want to participate this season. We are looking forward to a great season!
I have reserved office hours each week to meet with parents to discuss school improvement ideas, concerns or to simply meet with you to increase parent engagement throughout the year. Office hours are on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. You may also contact me via email at kmccormick@washcald.com, or by phone at 262-662-3466, Ext. 166.
Sincerely,
Kevin
Superintendent/Principal

SHHH..... Absolutely Incredible Kid Day
Shhhhh! It's a secret!!
We would like to invite you to share a very special day with us! Thursday, March 21, 2024 is Absolutely Incredible Kid Day! This day was created in 1997 to honor our nation’s young people by asking parents, guardians, coaches, or any adult in a child’s life to write letters of encouragement and inspiration to the incredible kids in their lives. It is a simple, meaningful way to let kids know how much they are appreciated and loved!
Please join us in celebrating the absolutely incredible kid in your life by writing a letter of inspiration or encouragement to your child. You may also ask any other adults (coaches, grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, principals, former teachers) in your child’s life to join in on this special day. The kids do not know about the day! This will be a surprise. PLEASE drop off early next week if you have not done so yet!!
Look for more information from your child's homeroom teacher soon! If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Borchardt.
