My name is Rachelle Bartels and I am the School Social Worker.  I am at Washington School on Mondays from 8-11:30AM and all day Wednesdays.  I also serve North Cape and Drought Schools. 

I received by Bachelors degree in Psychology, Child Psychology, and Youth & Family Studies from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and my Master of Social Work degree from UW-Milwaukee. My background includes working with behaviorally and emotionally disturbed adolescents in residential care settings and working as a community awareness coordinator/parent educator for a child abuse prevention organization.  This will be my sixth year working as a School Social Worker for Washington-Caldwell, North Cape, and Drought. 

As a School Social Worker, I serve as a link between school, home, and community.  I provide services to the students and families of Washington-Caldwell that include: assessment to determine factors which may affect a child's ability to learn, IEP implementation, crisis intervention, home visits, parent education, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, classroom presentations, and coordination of school and community resources.  These services can be accessed at request of the student, the parent/guardian, or school personnel, on behalf of the student.
