Holiday Break: December 20, 2008 – January 4, 2009
School Resumes: Monday, January 5, 2009
For the Week of January 5, 2008:
Happy New Year! May 2009 bring much happiness, good health, and peace to you, your loved ones, our community, our nation, and the world we live in.
Student Council is to be commended for its efforts to help re-supply the Caldwell Food Pantry. Also, our entire school community is to be commended for its generosity in providing holiday presents and necessities to needy families through our school’s annual “Giving Tree” activity.
By the way, the Caldwell Food Pantry, sponsored by the Caldwell United Methodist Church, is located at 8504 Caldwell Road. Persons interested in more information are encouraged to call Mr. Chuck Herman at (262) 534-6581.
The Christmas Concert was outstanding! What a turnout! The parking lot was filled with cars and the gymnasium was filled to the rafters with people! Many thanks to all who came to see our students perform. Our students are to be congratulated for their efforts, as well as our music teacher, Mrs. Leigh Warnell. Also, the PTO sponsored basket drawing that took place at the concert was very successful. Again, thank you to everyone who attended this special event!
There will be safety, curriculum, facilities, and strategic plan committee meetings on Monday, January 5th starting at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited. Meetings are held in the library.
Our boy’s basketball season begins the first week in January with an away game versus Paris. Tip-off time is at 6:15 p.m. We wish our student/athletes and coaches the very best as they begin their competition. GO BULLDOGS!
Individuals calling our school (especially after school hours) will find our phone system more user-friendly. Callers may now dial a directory of staff extensions so a message can be left for that staff member.
We all know January is normally a very cold month. Parents, please dress your children appropriately.
Please drive safely at all times around school. Remember to wear seat belts at all times – seat belts save lives!
As we begin a new calendar year, this is a wonderful opportunity to assess our goals and begin to concentrate on how we can accomplish all that we set out to do. Our students are our focus. Let’s continue to work together to make Washington-Caldwell an excellent school for our young people to thrive each day! We can – and will – do it!
