Summer School Opportunity in Burlington - Reading Program - Description
What is Special Connections?
- A network between school, community, and families of children with special needs
- A forum for parents to discuss issues related to special education on an informal basis, while maintaining and respecting the confidentiality of individual students
What is the goal of Special Connections?
- To connect the parents of special needs students together
- To connect families with resources within the schools and community
What are the dates of the Special Connections Meetings?
The dates of the special education parent meetings have been changed since the beginning of the school year. Meetings will not be held monthly, as originally planned. Here are the dates of upcoming meetings:
- Tuesday, May 13th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Topic: MAKE AND TAKE WORKSHOP (The Early Childhood staff will share ideas and materials for you to make games or projects for your personal use, use Boardmaker, create file folder games and much more.)
- The parent workshop will be presented at the Waterford Special Education Cooperative in the Early Childhood Classroom (room 156) at Waterford Union High School. Please enter through door number 20 and RSVP with Kathy Merlo at (262) 534-4034 ext. 753
Respite Care for Parents of Special Needs Children:
- Provided by the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin
- Upcoming dates of respite include Saturday, May 17th and 31st from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
